Subscribing to Blog Posts via RSS in Slack

This guide explains how to subscribe to blog posts via RSS in Slack.

You can subscribe to blog posts from your company or other companies. You will receive notifications as soon as new posts are published.

Requirements

  • Basic provision (Requires permission to add apps to Slack)
  • Use of the RSS app

How to Use

1. Click your Slack workspace name.

2. Mouse over [Settings & administration], then click [Manage apps] at the bottom of the list.

3. A web page will appear. Search for "RSS" in [Search the app directory].

  • Go to the RSS app page from the search results.

4. Once you search and enter, you will see that you can add the RSS Slack app.

  • This RSS app was created directly in Slack.
  • Click the [Add to Slack] button.

5. You will be asked if you want to install it. Then click the [Add RSS integration app] button.

6. You will be prompted to enter the RSS feed address.

  • The RSS address for Naver blogs is https://rss.blog.naver.com/blogID.xml.
    • For example, the address for the "Dream Young" blog would be https://rss.blog.naver.com/dreamyoungs_inc.xml.
  • The RSS address for Tistory blogs is https://tistoryID.tistory.com/rss.
  • Enter the Naver blog RSS address above in [Add feed], and specify which channel to send notifications to in [Post to channel].

7. Clicking [Subscribe to this feed] will register it as shown in the image below. To delete it, click the X button on the right.

Additional Notes

  • The RSS for the Onul.Works blog is https://onul.works/feed.
  • The RSS for the durumis blog is https://durumis.com/feed/ko.
    • Different language codes (ja, es, fr, etc.) are appended after "ko" for different languages.
    • For English, "/en" is not appended. (https://durumis.com/feed)
